I agree. I play this everyday for a couple of minutes (the 84+CSE version, that is) and it's very entertaining, even though I can barely get past level 6.
Heh, best of luck getting further. I'm glad to hear you find it classic and replayable (hint Omnimaga contest voting hint).
I made it to level 8! With a score of 6983! I even managed to trap a ball in a 2x2 area, which I thought was really cool
Great work on this game, dude. I've emailed Phero about it because it really deserves a feature. This is the only game on the color so far that I keep coming back to play!

Impressive, nice work! I somehow got to 14000 or so as my maximum score, although I have no idea how I pulled that off.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear! Feel free to vote in the public vote for Omnimaga's contest by 12/13 if you feel the same way as Merthsoft, by the way.
And I appreciate you emailing Phero about it; I'm honored that you find it that good of a game.
Heh. It is about the only game I play on my old computers: they have Jezzball, Nethack, and Tetris, and I rotate amongst the three. I play Jezzball so much, it drives my siblings crazy sometimes. It is a great game; quite replayable. So glad to see a competent port for the CSE (and I've already voted for it in the contest)! I have the B&W version on my calc, and it will stay there forever.
I think I mentionned on Cemetech that I tried the 84+CSE version a while ago and enjoy it a lot, but I did not try the 84+ one until now. Very good work Kerm.
Alrighty, I have played the CSE version for quite a while now, and wish to share my thoughts.
It's an excellent game of course, and I hope it gets the POTY! I've gotten to level 13, and my score was actually 313337 (or similar) at some point >_> However, I think its flood filling system is unfortunate. I think it should be like the original - it's current method frustrates me cause I'm used to the original, and this way it requires a whole different way of playing. I strongly urge at least a version is made with the original flood fill algorithm.
Also, I noticed the bonus system is very different - the original gave you more points based on a variety of factors, whereas this one only bases the bonus on how much percentage extra is filled beyond 75%, which it's flood fill algorithm is more hostile to "overfilling" anyway. I think it should also grant more bonus points based on how many extra lives you finished the level with and how fast you completed the level.
Lastly, please be aware I don't want to nitpick - I do want to point out things I think should be improved even more, but I don't want to imply that I don't think JezzBall is one of the best CSE games made, I'd say among the top 3.
