negative: they DO make PCI video cards Wink (and since its function will merely be to display 2d images on a 3rd monitor, it doesn't have to be very good at all)

actually ati does, nvidia doesnt

isn't that what i just said Question

the mobo I want takes dual Athlon 64 X2's but only requires 1, so I only hvae to have the money for 1 at a time, theres multiple mobos like this ill probly go with 1 from msi

please show me this magical (nonexistant) motherboard!
non existant, no; hard as hell to find, yes, they r server mobos and its just a mobo that has dual 939 that will suport the x2s

show me, because if they are server, they use opterons. Dual core opterons exist, but they aren't X2's

X2's CANNOT be used in multi-chip configurations, as the hyper transport bridges that would connect them in a multi-chip configuration do not exist. That is what seperates the opteron from the desktop chips (64s/X2s)
i love how u ppl r such assholes on this board a server doesnt have to use an opteron, ucanu get that into ur small, very small mind?

If its called a server motherboard, it uses a SERVER CPU, which would be an opteron. But that is irrelevant, as there CAN'T be any dual-CPU X2 mobo's, due to the cut hypertransport lanes

psst, ati does make their own cards

i fail to see how that is relevant at all. No one said that no one else made ATI-powered cards, it was only stated that ATI DOES make their own cards, whereas nVidia doesn't.
Sorry; I was under a false assumption then Smile
Hehe, happens to the best of us. Smile
