AHelper You need 100 posts. That section was started primarily for life rants and such thing that people want out of reach of bad hands, but it seems one person thought it was ok to use it to cheat on a test.
By the way there are actual sites on the Internet where you can download (or buy) pre-made essays or the answers to popular school tests. This is certainly materials we should make sure that is not posted anywhere on calc websites here. Imagine now if schools or companies requested that Cemetech and Omni get added to every school and parental filter for providing tools to cheat on tests or illegal material.
DJ_O, I'm glad to hear that you share my concern, although it was the following two staff/(ex-staff?) posts that particularly raised my ire, so perhaps you can help me understand them:
DJ_O earlier in that Prizm Training cheating thread wrote:
Make sure that answers and stuff are slightly modified, though, if needed, so it doesn't look suspicious to them.
Juju earlier in that Prizm Training cheating thread wrote:

Yeah... just make sure Casio Education doesn't register an account and investigate.

And post at least 100 times.
Clearly everyone knew that they were doing something that was wrong; Parser Padawan even said:

The fact that staff not only let an extremely dishonest thread remain, but also encouraged it or participated in it, made me very unhappy.
Oh right, yeah when I wrote this I didn't really realize how bad this was. I myself would be against cheating on a real school exam but when I initially saw that topic, I only thought about the "getting a Prizm/emulator for free" factor, not the whole factor about how bad this could have backfired against the entire community, and shortly after I sent a PM to Yeong about how he should maybe try to delete that topic soon, I started to realize how bad was what he did, especially for the community, but also that it was still unethical to cheat or encourage cheating on a test regardless of if it was for school or not, but sadly it was too late.
My problem and the one from certain people there is that we tend to not think brightly when some situations occurs, and I wish when I saw this that I realized immediately how bad this was then report it to the staff (since I can't delete posts). As for Juju it seems to be the same, but having known him better in the last year or so (seeing him IRL quite often and how some Omnimaga stuff are handled), it seems to be on a higher scale. Normally the topic should have been locked and the attachment deleted.
As for the other members, I think age in general (and probably lack of maturity from some) might be the issue. In general people don't really think as much before replying to controversial content. No offense to anyone intended of course since we all start somewhere and I also do plenty of mistakes. I hope Yeong realizes what he did, that I and juju try to be careful when such thing happens (thanks at least for knocking some sense in our heads, although I know we shouldn't have posted that in the first place)
I'm sorry if this sounded like we try to encourage cheating and I certainly don't want people to think the site as a whole encourages this either. As for the private sub-forums, this is the first time I see it used for that and I hope this is the last.
I hope no grudges are held against the members or Omni due to that and I won't hold any against Yeong either, providing that we learn from this.
P.S: Juju is one of the admin (although Netham45 is the main owner of the site), but I'm not anymore. I can only post news and move topics now.
That is disgusting. I am going to post on omni right now but just wanted to tell you guys that I do not approve of this behavior.
Kerm: When I asked you for screenshots, I didn't know that the screenshots were the answers, I thought they were a 'show your work' thing.
EDIT:
Seems that the omni admin have finally removed the illegal posts. Good for them, but a little late :/
DJ_O: Thanks again, I'm glad to hear that Omnimaga holds similar views and rules to Cemetech as far as cheating.

I tried to add a response to that topic saying something along the lines of "This post was written in a moment of anger, and I mean no lasting offense to any of the players or to Omnimaga as a whole, but I'm still very disappointed in the posters in this topic.", but it had already been locked.
Yeah I wanted to post there as well but couldn't due to that. There is actually another topic about the Free Prizm here though:
http://ourl.ca/15150/283916;topicseen#new
As for if your post was rude or not, Omni normally disallows that kind of stuff, but after I realized what was done, I decided to let it go (and even rated it up), since I can understand the frustration. Netham45 didn't really agree on that and thought it was best to report the post to moderators, but the problem with that feature is that it notifies via e-mail, not directly on the forums, and several staff primarily check Omni rather than their mailbox.
DJ_O, which topic has the illegal links? I started that topic (http://ourl.ca/15150/283916;topicseen#new)
I didn't know there was another one!
Oh... OK. one thing I noticed is that in the course there is no 'one per household' thing or anything... Not that I would try to get two, but I wonder why casio wouldn't say anything about that.
What disappoints me, though, is that it's not available in Canada and France, even though those are two places where the Prizm is sold in retail stores....
It seems popular these days for companies to restrict everything to United States only. For example, almost every of the 30 music site my songs were published into only allow United States residents to purchase it.
I think it has to do with the relatively small community casio has in the usa.
EDIT (Responding to DJ's edit):
It costs less to ship from usa to usa...
That is just sad that someone would do that.

It is kind of stupid and makes me angry that the high level people would endorse it to.
On a slightly more positive note, is casio still letting people submit and are people that just submitted still eligible?
As far as I can tell, yes. I got confirmation for my 3rd Assessment this morning and I'm now waiting for my shipment.
I've also gotten into a bit of a dialogue with the guy who receives your emails as well.

Excellent, what sort of things have you guys been discussing?
Finished first module in between math HW now to start assessment #1.

Nice.
I'm very proud of all your Cemetechians for continuing to be honest about this and acting in good faith towards Casio as you wish them to act towards us.

In sight of the discussion earlier in the topic I don't even go onto omnimaga hence I didn't know about it until after you guys started conversing about and it was "Shut down".
Only read the first post. But YAY. Thanks Kerm. I am TOTALLY going to try this out. I would love a free prizm!

We sort've talked about the programming abilities of graphing calculators. I also offered my own opinions on where Casio could go with improving upon what they already have, namely, I think that they should expand the memory capacity, and improve CasioBasic. (I personally believe they should make it more similar to OO languages, for one, as well as possibly compiled). He seemed to agree.
Anyways, my prizm came in the mail today!
Here's a pic:

Edit: I changed it to a URL. Somehow it came out HUGE XD
