I saw that article too: I think I saw a DS touchscreen being used on it, which would give resistive touch feedback (at least you get multiple levels of sensitivity)
It definitely looks like a good candidate, although its specs are much closer to the nspire's than the pi's. Maybe the screen could be adapted to fit the pi! VNC over bluetooth would probably be too slow
