Yeah, you and me both. I'm always wary of things like boxcutters and razor blades for exactly that reason, even if it's the best tool for the job to do something like cut the insulation off of a thick cable. :/
I'm the same way about hot water, since my hands can get kinda shaky sometimes. That's why I always ask someone else to pour it on my ramen...
