Well, after quite a while, I've gotten my VPS!
Needless to say, it was pretty fun to play with and use, and
will certainly be put to greater uses in the future.

Some nitty gritty details about my fun VPS:
For now though, the rest of the HDD is pretty empty. I didn't buy this just so that 24 GB goes to waste!
So, I've decided to give away and sell shell accounts (with web space) from my VPS!
How will it work? Basically, you just post requests in this topic.
There 3 "types" of ways to get it - free, flat fee pay, and community pay.
For free:
You provide me with a reason on why you want it, how you will use the account, and
why do you want free. Legitimate explanations only! I'm not accepting a dumb, forceful,
or crazy explanation. NO EXCEPTIONS.
If accepted, you get a nice 300 MB space, with all the goodies of the VPS included.
(Your resources are limited though, including memory and CPU.)
You can ask for more if you have a valid reason. (You can even ask for more in the
request!)
If you have money at all, you can't choose this unless you provide a solid reason
on why you can't pay at all.
For paid (flat fee):
You provide me with a reason on why you want it, and how you will use the account.
Then you pay $3 (via Paypal), and you'll get your account hopefully within 24 hours.
You get 600 MB of space, with all the goodies of the VPS included.
(Resources are not limited, provided that you don't abuse it and are courteous to others
on the server.)
For paid (community pay):
This is actually the most interesting of all.
You provide me with a reason on why you want it, and how you will use the account.
Then - you say that you COMMIT to paying, but don't pay yet.
Other people can sign on too and say that they will commit.
After a certain limit/date, I close the requests.
Then you guys can split the cost of $8 ($2 profit for misc. uses + $6 server cost).
After everyone pays, each of you will get your account hopefully within 24 hours.
You get 800 MB of space, with all the goodies of the VPS included.
(Resources are not limited, provided that you don't abuse it and are courteous to others
on the server.)
So for instance, if 8 people sign on, then they each pay $1 and get the same service.
Even better - 16 people = $0.50/month! O_O
Oh, and if anyone donates >= $6, fees are waived for that month!
Why am I asking for money? The server I get isn't free. It costs $5.95/month, and
if I don't pay up, it goes away. So I'm asking for either money from selling space/accounts
or donations. (Donations as in giving me money, but not getting anything back.)
I'd love to share, which is why there's a free option. But nothing's free always, so
there's a paid option with more features to get some money to pay off the VPS bills.
So what are you getting? A dual core i7 server, with plenty of
programs included in the installation, web hosting, and (in the future) a
remote desktop! IRC bots are allowed, provided that they aren't
abusive clients.
Here's what you get:
Desktop with XChat open.
Desktop without any windows shown.
Desktop, with console showing the CPU.
SSH session (the shell account itself)

It's plain common sense - don't put any adult content, illegal stuff, etc. on the server.
Don't abuse the resources - you are sharing it, and hogging the CPU isn't just not
good for others, it's also against the VPS host's policies. So don't do it!
If you're caught with it, I'll warn you once. Afterwards, your account is deleted,
and you are banned from the server. If you've paid, no refunds will be given.
Simply said, don't do anything stupid, and we'll all have fun!
