As the title says: What do you want the screen resolution to be?

Consider the CPU speed, the cost of the screen, and the use of the resolution.
Especially consider the cost - you don't want the screen costing a half or a third of the total cost!

Note that the screen will be grayscale, and that the size should be similar (maybe 1/4-1/2 cm off) to the TI-83/84 screen size.
128x64 graphical LCDs are widely available and generally quite cheap (they're the highest resolution I've seen until you start heading towards very expensive parts).

I'd argue that a high resolution is more important than greyscale, but I have no idea what this LCD would be for (I see lots of threads with [OTZ80] in the title, which I assumed meant they were "off-topic Z80" threads, but I guess from this woolly list of specifications you're building a specific device?)
It's a theoretical community calculator called the OmniTech (Omnimaga + Cemetech, get it? Laughing) z80 calculator. Thus far we've/they've decided on an ez80 core, which is actually quite an exciting chip from my perusal of the datasheet, but most of the other specifications are still up in the air.

I thing 128x64 would be a decent resolution, although I feel like I'd want something bigger for a calculator that was a marked improvment over my trusty 83+s and 84+s. I therefore voted 240x160, although I'd be fine with 192x168 as well.
I have no idea what I would choose. I'd love to get a super high res screen.... but they aren't very cheap: http://www.mouser.com/Optoelectronics/Displays/LCD-Displays/LCD-Graphic-Display-Modules-Accessories/_/N-6j73a?P=1z0wulf&Keyword=LCD&FS=True

240x160 is definitely cheaper... but still takes quite a bit of money.
And there's a very tiny stock: http://www.mouser.com/Optoelectronics/Displays/LCD-Displays/LCD-Graphic-Display-Modules-Accessories/_/N-6j73a?P=1z0wtdg&Keyword=LCD&FS=True

Any opinions on this?

Holy hell, some of those are $800! Even the monochrome 240x160 ones are $35. Wow.

Edit: And there's only a single 96x64-pixel option, it's full-color, and it's both obsolete and out-of-stock. :/

That's all folks! Smile Voting is now closed, and votes will now be tallied.
The final feature list will be announced soon, so stay tuned.

Thanks to everyone who voted! Very Happy
It seems to me that this particular attribute didn't get hashed out enough; it only makes sense to pick an LCD size in terms of the available modules and their cost, and I don't feel that that was adequately explored.
