Asteroids v2.0 - 8/10
I think something might be off with the timestamp on this upload...
Asteroids is the oldest public TI-83+/84+ BASIC game on this site, and I'd say it's still plenty of fun to play today. At first, it may not look like much -- the TI-OS menu certainly seems a bit underwhelming these days, and the "Help" option does nothing -- but upon entering the game proper, you'll begin to understand why I think this is still a great game. You control a line navigating through randomly generated waves of 'asteroids' (vertical lines) from the left side of the screen to the right. The gameplay can get very difficult at times because of this, and yet never so much as to be uninviting. It'd fit right alongside other classic arcade games perfectly. This is only helped by the fact that the game is quite small in size -- only 483 bytes -- making sure that it runs well on just about anyone's device, even those with lots of programs. And as a final cherry on top, the game even has its own Doors logo! In all, I'd certainly recommend this to anyone with a monochrome calculator.
