Description

The Token Quest

A cyberpunk-themed RPG and hacking simulation developed for TI-84 Plus CE and TI-83 Premium CE graphing calculators.

Developed by Ubuntu_is_life

-------------------------------------------------------

Plot

The game takes place inside a corrupted operating system where rogue processes and memory leaks threaten to cause a system-wide crash. You play as a programmer navigating through different memory sectors to purge corrupted nodes, bypass firewalls, and collect data fragments. Your ultimate goal is to complete the "Initial Compile" to restore the system and find the Original Token.

There are 4 areas, in which you can go and explorate : in it, the combat is all automatic, when an enemy is nearby enough, you attacks it , and depending of your competences, the enemy sustains more or less damage, knock-back, etc

The areas contains items, that you can pick up to obtain a temporary boost (health gain, DPS boost, bag of Bytes, range...)

By pressing [enter], it displays a map of the level, showing your position and items positions. At first the map displays only a 3x3 area around player's position.

To finish a level, you needs to complete a full "purge" (purge at 100%) : enemies spawn continuously, and then when you killed 99 of them, the boss of that area spawns : it is bigger, has more health, is less affected by knock-back and it does more damage than normal enemies. If you manages to kill him, he restores a shard of The Original Token. There are 4 shards: If , For , Goto and End. Each shard corresponds to an area, and restoring the first shard unlocks the second area, and so on...

When you exit a game (finishing or not the level), you receives Bytes (money of the game) so you can upgrade your abilities in the Forge (Attack speed, Raw damage, Max health, Health regeneration and Protection).

-------------------------------------------------------

Achievement system :

Can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make an asm version please bro.

Pretty good game.

Though I could just stand in one place and let the enemies come to me. But collecting items is an incentive to move

The forge system is nice (upgrading DPS is really good).

Bosses are nice, but they do the same damage as normal enemies

Also hate that you took all my bytes away just to remain level 1 at regeneration.

Also kind of broken after Level 2, but I think that is my fault
