the game runs super smoothly! it's cool too
In my opinion, donkey Kong is one of those games which you have on your calculator but you never play it.
Pros:
I love the title screen, it looks just like the original
The graphics are super smooth
Overall it's a very impressive game to have on your calculator
Cons: The game is nearly inplayable, I hate how the barrels randomly roll down ladders
When you pick up the hammer you lose momentum
It doesn't have to display the message "how high can you get" every time you die. It's displayed for too long.
You can't jump fast enough to jump over barrels
Also I think the animation when you die should become shorter.
Conclusion: Nearly inplayable game; don't get if you have a short temper or limited patience
I can't leave a negative rating since you didn't invent the game (it's just a port), but it's not in the least bit fun. For one, you don't need to replay the "HOW HIGH CAN YOU GET" cutscene every time you lose a life. Second, I hate how the barrels randomly choose to fall down ladders, and since Mario moves and jumps so clunkily, it's basically impossible to react in time. Lastly, it's a little annoying that the hammer kills all your momentum when you pick it up, which makes you more vulnerable for a second. Ultimate rage game and unnecessarily tedious.
