If they want to go to all the trouble of figuring that stuff out, then let them. They take away from the fun of the game at that point. *shrugs*

0x5. IMO Basic reversing is lame. You have the source...

Well, for now anyways.

Once I get this game to where I am just adding NPC and map data, I will move all save data, including the pokemon boxes, to app vars, so they will not be able to be access the data to cheat. Problem solved.

Well, that is one reason why I use BasicBuilder.

Um.. Celtic2. Of course, anyone who is going to that length is kinda stretching it. I can see it now...

"I choose you InsertRandomNameHere" Custom attacks!!! Speaking of which, how are you storing attacks?

Names are line by line in a program, and the data will be in another, once I get around to implementing that

I have an old program out there (but anyone can do that too with calcsys) that just transforms an appvar into a program, and back. (with minimal VAT knowledge you can bypass the trick)

I think you should strip the part you need from the celtic source to save some space (your databases will be big enough Smile ).

I utilize all aspects of of Celtic2, so why would I want just a part of it? o.O

And trust me, I know this game will be huge, that is why the targeted platform is the SE calcs. If it so happens to fit on the normal 84+, then those users will be lucky.

I am estimating this game to be around 250k to 300k when it is all said and done, but I am hoping for less.

I am also considering moving the name data for pokemon and items, along with other things, to being appvars, to get them out of the way of the program list and make things easier for me.

That is, once I get myself to where I was before the accident and such.. <<

It will fit on a regular 84, with a bit of effort.

hahaha!!! Great news gents!

It seems my old 83+SE has some life left in it after all. FINALLY got one of my calcs to talk to it, and sent OS 1.16, and it took it after a few tries. And the best part, a great deal of the info I had in there was still saved to Archive!

So, I plan to write down the programs that survived, and see what needs to be done to quickly get myself back to where I was. So yeah, that is what is going on now, no more need to go through the whole thing again Laughing

Short story, it was submerged in water due to my dog, and I thought I had lost it and my gameboy pocket. Thankfully, both have fully recovered, and I the calc that contained pokemon still has 50 of the programs that I had already reworked. I am going to compile a list of programs that didn't survive and needs to be rebuilt and get those finished so I can move on.
