| Hey Sir Robin, it's about $149.99. I suppose it'll drop after 89 T comes out. |

| The 89 is $150 usually. Depends on where you get it from. But yeah, I'd think it'd go down once the 89Ti is released. |

| Wonder how much it'll cost then. Same price when the 83+ went down when 83+ SE appeared? |

Yes, I know it was already stated previously. But I didn't see the link to the news item. I thought I'd provide it, for those who like to look at such things.
I'll keep that in mind for future reference. |

| O.K. cool. I hope that future TI's will have bigger screens. Hope it will be able to support other programming languages, such as Perl, C++, etc. |

I don't see the real difference between that and a good calculator.

Probably will never happen.

You really do like to ask the simple questions, don't you?
The 89Ti will be the worst calculator on the planet. It will be able to do numerous calculus and algebra functions such as factoring, solving equations, finding derivatives and integrals, expanding, finding limits, 3D graphing, and a plethora of other options.
Then there's the fact of having 2.7 MB of memory for games like Tankers, Phoenix Platinum, Oblivion, Space Dementia (I & II), and lots of others. And all the apps graciously preloaded by TI.
Overall, a terrible calculator to have. |

I think the 83 series is better than the 89 series overall for some dumb reason. In fact, I'm pretty heavily biased against the 89.

Not necessarily.
1) I don't have enough room to carry it around at school.
2) The school would require me to let them put stuff on it to spy on me.
3) My school is such that the laptop would get stolen if I left it somewhere for 1 minute. |

I'm sure you're not the only one. I like the 89 more than any other calculator, actually. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion. |

Note the 'should'
"1) I don't have enough room to carry it around at school."
You have arms, use them. Or use one of them special laptop carry bag things.
"2) The school would require me to let them put stuff on it to spy on me."
Software does not increase the laptop's weight, you should still be able to caryy it around if it has any stupid software on it.
"3) My school is such that the laptop would get stolen if I left it somewhere for 1 minute."
Carrying something around is not about leaving it so it can be stolen. |

So, you'd take your laptop to the bathroom, and take it with you to the cafeteria, and to the front of the room to pick up a paper, and...
And anyway, I don't want to have anything with Spyware. That's a blatant invasion of privacy, and I wouldn't let anyone do that just so I could have a laptop. |
