You need to be a really good ASM coder if you want to beat GCC.

What's GCC? If it's something posted previously, then I'll read it later. Anyways, is there any book on how to program in a TI calc in asm, or c, or basic?

TIGCC. I'm totally guessing, but I believe it stands for TI GNU C Compiler. (Once again, a guess.) As for the book, no not really. There's the calculator manual to help you in basic, but I don't think anyone has taken the time to publish books on how to program in ASM or C. (Although there are some good tutorials, as you might already know.)

Maybe UTI should. Maybe all the active members should. Should we?

If you want to find a publisher and pay for it, then sure.

How about if we pool our money? Any ways even if we do, how long would it take us to write the book?

well, if you cant look at the screen long enough for a tutorial, i would invest in something called a printer. you hook it up to your computer and press teh "print" button, and it prints the text and graphix right on the page just like a book. they are simply amazing.

The best part is, you can print however much you want. It'd almost be like you're making a book! I find online tutorials and such much easier, as you can get to them pretty much any time you're on the Internet.

and, if you are online, you can just click in the Table Of Contents to go to the page (no manual searching ) |

O.K. then let's use a part of UTI to create a tutorial. Should we?

Not me. Don't really have the time to commit to writing a book on programming. (Seeing as how there's like thousands already out there.)

I think I have the time considering I'm online a long time. However, it depends on whether, or not someone teaches me.

You want to write a book on something you don't know how to do? You need to know it well enough to teach it to others that they'll understand it well enough to actually use it. That's why teachers get paid so little. (Probably.)

Exactly. We need better tutorials. That's why we should make this. So here's two plans.
Plan A:
I learn C. Then I adjust to TI routines. Then I start writing tutorials.
Years taken: One
Plan B:
Forget it. |

Or you could learn z80 asm, as that's probably what a majority of people coming to this site would want to learn. (There probably wouldn't be many C programmers coming here, as the TICT forums could take care of that.) Not to mention you could learn that in 28 days.
