On a side note, got my site to now display old news. I came up with a solution on the php side and managed to make it work, and fixed the errors all on my own! (Kerm should get the joke behind this Wink )

http://tifreakware.net/admin/viewoldnews.php

This link can also be found underneath the news posts on the front page. Smile

On to other things, I had a wild hair and decided to take a gander at my webring. The poor thing, only has 5 sites in it left. I know omnimaga jumped off after our falling out (I wonder if he would think to add back now that we have gotten past our differences?) but I was most shocked to see Cemetech no longer on the list! What is up with that Kerm? o.O At the very least, you could have it go in your link section. Or on the front page, somewhere... It would be nice to see about getting more sites back on it, since my site is supposedly connecting others... And does via the links system there. Wink It just fails hard via the webring. :/

Any who, the main part of the post was the view old news post thing, and I think for the time being I am done ranting about the webring. ^_^

I should use this thread more. This is an amazing necropost brought to you by someone who doesn't care Wink

Added another tutorial, one by Ashbad on Axe programming. Going to see about asking the other authors on omnimaga if I can do a backup of their tutorials section to TIFW.

Also, got an archives section of sorts going, through the forums: http://tifreakware.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=24

Speaking of which, since the original posting of this, there are new forums! yay me

Umm.. For the moment, that's all Very Happy I'll try to not wait almost 3 years before posting in here again..

What about the anti-spambot module you wanted to install? Are you considering something like Elfprince's mod that we have here?

I believe that it's a phpBB2 mod, and you're running phpBB3 to the best of my recollection with shoehorning SAX in, but we should be able to make it work. Hopefully I'll have a chance this weekend. Also, is your SAX still glitchy, and if so, how?

Well, when clicking on posts from the TIFW sax that is in TIFW forums, it opens new tabs.

When you load a new page up, it throws up the dupe error message for a few seconds, and randomly does that when sitting on a page.

Really long strings of text force their way out of the text box and in through the forum.

That's really the only thing I'm aware of glitch wise.

What is the possibility of having a saxjax like bot to post to and from #tifreakware straight to tifw sax? Not sure what kind of flood that might cause on SAX overall though.. Probably all kinds, huh? :<

Thanks. Smile

I have quite the list, but I'm trying to juggle them and pokemon. Makes things a little slow, but they're getting done.

Next up on the list is the physics lessons that builderboy has posted on Omnimaga, located here: http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=articles;cat=12

Going to drop them into one page, give them a fancy indexing and all that. :p

Created a new tutorial based on the demand of 'How do I put files on my calculator?' question.

http://tifreakware.net/tutorials/link.htm

Let me know what you think! Is there anything you think I missed? Let me know and I'll add it up. Smile

That looks like a great tutorial; I see nothing missing. Smile As you were discussing on IRC, I think that a congruent TiLP tutorial would be a great idea.

Jimbauwens, the other day, was attempting to write a script to download the entire content of an Invisionfree board to convert it to a SMF MySQL database afterward. There is another script written in Python available on SMF website that lets you do such thing and it has PhpBB support too, but Invisionfree changed some stuff around and the script doesn't work properly anymore.

He plans to convert the old Omni boards (which Invisionfree recently restored) into SMF so I can merge and sort them out on my personal webspace, but I thought I would let you know in case that works out well, since you could have all old TI-FW posts hosted on your webspace with the rest of the site (and gain the ability to search through them, which Invisionfree lacks).

Yeah, he mentioned it on irc. Jonimus has already done the conversion, I believe, and I think we were trying to see if Kerm knew of a way to properly merge it into the existing database for phpbb3. Something to ask about, again.

Oh yes, I really need to do that merger one of these days. Sad I seriously need a clone.
