Woohoo! I agree with Ashbad in terms of the manliness. Being able to admit you like such a thing and not care what others think is manly, just not in the same way that we'd commonly think. Still, one really has to "man up" to do that. Also, I hope you like memes and inside jokes. We bronies have plenty of those (Scootachicken, 20% *er (the "cake is a lie" of the brony community), Derpy+Muffins...), and like Ashbad said, we'll be happy to show you the best parts of the fandom and explaining them.
Considering you're going to watch it all, I'll say now that S01 admittedly has some "meh" episodes and some overrated ones (Winter Wrap-Up was good, but it wasn't all that is holy...). However, I'd also say S02 is absolutely fantastic, and it is rich with small references clearly not aimed at little girls. Season 2's villains were also really good and original (unlike Nightmare Moon, I must admit). While you're going through S02 and arrive at The Last Roundup (S02E14, and admittedly fairly "meh"), try to find the original, unedited version.
And now that I've said that...

Aww... it came out while I'm at work  Now I'll have to wait a few hours to see it. Which is different than normal for me, as I've watched the previous 3 .MOV entries 5 minutes after they were uploaded on YouTube.
No one spoil it for me! Though, feel free to tell me how it compares to MAGIC and SHED.

| I watched 3 episodes last night, starting at S02 E09. Ironically enough E10 (i think) was about cutie marks. I understand 'blank flank' now. These included: winter-wrap up, cutie mark (with applebloom), and the running of the leaves. All were pretty good. Yesterday I watched one in Spanish. It was the one where pinkie pie babysits a unicorn and a peguses. I am pretty good at spanish so I understood most of it. Even in spanish it was pretty good :p now I need to find my mark. |

Okay, now when you've seen S01E25 (Party of One), search YouTube for the Romanian version of Singing Telegram. Also, the episode you're describing is Baby Cakes, S02E13, the episode in which pony genetics are questioned.  I really enjoyed that one (in English).

Finally got to watching PARTY.MOV. Most disturbing and disgusting .MOV yet. Which in my mind makes it the best one yet. Prostitute/addict Pinkie was a bit depressing yet hilarious. The actual quality of the episode was much higher than even MAGIC.MOV, so that impressed me.
Eagerly awaiting SWAG.MOV. And more importantly, now that PARTY.MOV is out of the way, maybe the Jappleack blog will be updated faster; I'm personally more excited to see chapter 3 of the "Jappleack Anonmaly" than even SWAG.MOV, since it's actually turning out to be a pretty epic adventure. Oh, and ridiculous religious undertones. Only HotDiggedyDemon could get away with making them actually funny. For those who don't follow the blog, it picks up from where APPLE.MOV took place (well, APPLE.MOV was after the Jappleack blog started up, but it's been following the events of the .MOV series since then). I actually disagree; I found most of the one-off jokes before to be pretty sub-par to other (what I found to be funnier) tumblrs like Naughty Naughty Luna, O Dat Cheerilee, etc. HotDiggedyDemon, in all reality, isn't that great with comedy unless it's incredibly NSFW and unrestricted in boundaries (as seen in the .MOV series). Examples include both the earlier rendition of Ask-Jappleack and his pre-.MOV series WGJ4K, both of which were only NSFW for language, and in my opinion were only really funny in how they used the language. I mean, even in the .MOV series, all of the non drug, sex, heavy-language jokes were pretty lame. I think HDD is trying to stretch into narrative stories instead of his old form of stupid comedies to see if he's better with it.
And, while the whole thing about the planes of existence and Applelox in The Jappleack Anomoly are kind of lame, I think it's a step in the right direction for the blog. Partially because I know he'll keep Jappleack in the normal pony world for at least a while longer, and the havoc that'll ensue will likely be hilarious.
... Or not, if he doesn't act smart about it and just returns Jappleack to her parallel plane of existence. Unless of course he sends her to other planes, which are actually other blogs, and has her interact with the creations of other tumblr geniuses (O Dat Cheerilee and Jappleack together would be awesome). Or, as another possibility, he might even kill off Jappleack and start a new pony tumblr, which has happened in the case of Ask Berry Punch (predecessor of O Dat Cheerilee and Naughty Naughty Luna)
Spence: glad to see you're improving in your pony drawings!  I can already tell that you've advanced. The anatomy in both drawings needs some work (mostly in the legs), but it's definitely getting there.

| I watched epidsodes S01 E13-E20, I am suprised every one is unique but yet it still ties together. They are awesome! The only complaint was S01E20 wasn't that great at all. I was disappointed with the buffalo's. But overall it is great. I watch 3-4 a night and will sadly finish them pretty soon. Go CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS!!! ahem.... yay (fluttershy(; )... and the BRONIES... yay. Rarity bugs me once in a while but meh it's okay. Rainbow Dash is the coolest. |

I'm not looking to follow another story, I have two other webcomics I read for that. I'm just looking for quick humor, and Ask Japples has stopped providing that. Plus, following a plot limits what he can do comedically. He can no longer do Applebloom gets abused jokes, for example, because he's continuing a narrative in which that character is gone. And he can't randomly kill characters for comedic effect because it would conflict with the narrative. Plus, Japples no longer responds to questions, which is the whole point of a tumblr in the first place.
Just my opinion though. |
